Post Doctoral Fellowships

The Global Institute for Sustainability, at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City, is pleased to announce its Post Doctoral Fellowships for its Project Increasing the Competitiveness of the Supply through Sustainable Practices of Small and Medium Enterprises  (SMEs).
A joint initiative of Tecnológico de Monerrey and Arizona State University, the Latin American headquarters of the Global Institute of Sustainability, was launched in October 2011 with the mission to use knowledge to inspire people, institutions and private companies so that together we promote the transition towards a sustainable pattern of development in Mexico and other Latin American countries. The Institute has identified the Mexican private sector as a key actor in promoting this change, and has therefore launched a major initiative to greening the supply chain of large corporations.
The Institute is seeking to appoint an energetic academic to be part of a team that is at the forefront of research on the methodology and training tools that are appropriate for SMEs in the context of the supply chain of large corporations. This is a 1-year (renewable up to 2 years) full-time Postdoctoral Fellowship will focus on any of the different aspects of the larger research program, which may include energy efficiency, waste management, efficient use of materials, ecoefficiency and ecoinnovation, life-cycle assessment and ecological footprint, among other topics.
The project will address a knowledge gap in the environmental impacts SMEs have in the Mexican economy and other Latin American countries.  This gap will be address in several research areas in order to develop the crucial knowledge to increase SMEs competitiveness, while at the same time reducing their aggregated impacts over the environment.
